911 Front wheel bearing replacement

Before you do anything, open up the new bearing packages, remove the races, and stick them in the freezer.

Jack up the car put it on a jackstand,and remove the wheel.

On 930 brakes, use a pair of pliers to squeeze the retaining clip and pull it outwards.

Grab the pads by the ears and pull them out; you'll probably have to wiggle a little bit.

Remove the caliper bolts (19mm)

Set the caliper aside. Be sure to support the caliper so as to not bind the brake line

Here's the dust cap; mine is the 930-style with a nut attached to use to pull the cap.

Remove the dust cap.

use an 8mm allen wrench to loosen the locking nut. When the nut is loose, remove it like any other nut.

Here's what it will look like with the locknut removed. Put a rang down to catch the bearings and washer, and pull the rotor straight out.

Here's the bare spindle with the rotor removed. I cleaned this one up before taking the picture, and yours will be full of grease.

Then remove the outer race...

Put a thin layer of grease on the hub to make putting in the new race easier
