I got these pictures from Eric Stollsteimer who recently found this '52 Standard in Michigan(?) One of the the most distinctive features of the very early busses (early '52 and before) were the piano-hinge vent wings, just barely visible in the frontal shot of this bus. Later vent wings pivoted around a post set in the middle of the vent wing frame; the piano hinged one had hinges like that on the lid of a piano, and opened forward. By the way, this bumper does not belong with this bus. This bus was found in Houghton, Michigan, about as far north as you can go without hitting Canada. It is in sorry shape, but still very salvageable. Eric bought it for $400. This bus is currently undergoing restoration

this poor barndoor standard had been rolled on the way to the show... (Kelly Park 1999) He still made it though!
