yo yo ma everyone here...no pictures of my busses yet but heres a quick rough sketch of a tatoo i might be gettin...those are renches at the bottom, an the numbers are my thre bussees. you cant see it, but on one of the wrenches it says "type 1...bug" and on the other "type 2...bus" yay! oh, by the way...... 1. yes,there MY busses. 2. yes, i work on them myself (my boyfreind, brother, father etc do not help) 3. yes, i am a VW CHICK! woohah! (oh, and by the way, im getting the tat done at the next bug o rama in sacremento)

'54 Kombi '54 Kombi

Since everyone was talking about deals on Busses I thought I'd add mine. I drive a 62 Kombi daily, but several months ago I heard of a 55 Bus not too far from me but was told there was no way I could get it as others had tried for years. Well to make a really long story short, the Bus turned out to be a 54 Kombi, which aside from some questionable bodywork was very original (perfect middle and rear seats, fuel dipstick, crank, etc all still there) and except for the missing engine, was complete. So with the excellent help of my friend Tim we wrenched it out of where it sat since the mid to late 60's. The total cost of this Bus was $80.00, the owner actually wanted 75 but I only had 4 20's on me, and asking for the 5 in change just seemed wrong. I made a crappy site with some pics I took of it and you can find them here:

after 6 years i am once again a vw bus owner! i picked up this '65 microbus in toledo yesterday and was able to drive it home to milwaukee without incident. it took about 8 hours, but i made it! she's a little beat up from the ride, but is now resting peacefully in my garage.
