Pre-heat tube on a 1500 Pre-heat tube on a 1500

Pre-heat tube as installed on the '68 Bug 1500 in my '64 Bus. This picture was taken with the rear body piece unbolted and the rear tin removed. The camera is to the left of the left heater box fresh air tube, looking at where the heater box bolts to the head. The pre-heat tube tab goes over the lower stud for the heater box-to-head flange.

Pre-heat tube as installed on the '68 Bug 1500 in my '64 Bus. This picture was taken with the rear body piece unbolted and the rear tin removed. The camera is in back of the crankshaft pulley, looking towards the back of the left head. The end away from the camera is not bent, but is cut at an angle - it looks bent in this photo.
