| 08/27/02 | Jim Ellis | The bus in the lower half of this image is a 1954 ambulance converted into a camper. The heritage is from Germany to Sweden to the late John Jakobsen in Denmark to Jim Ellis in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and eventually to a collector in Japan. At the time of my ownership in the United States the bus reatained the rare barndoor safari windscreens but the spotlight rearview mirrors were no longer on the bus. The lenses on the fog lights had been changed to clear driving lenses. It was a great bus that was only sold under duress. I'm sorry that I did not have ability to hang on to it and maintain it properly. No doubt that the current owner enjoys it muchly! |
