Finally finished with the air cylinders and it works way better than I hoped it would. 3 wheelin in my driveway with stock suspension.

Here are some before and after pics of my 1965 deluxe (its a work in progress). It has come along way from sitting in a salvage yard since 1978! My bus will be making the long trip all the way from Missouri to Washington state this coming spring. What more could a bus ask for than to be driven! More pics up soon...

I wnat to mount the porsche hub on my VW 66 buw spindle, but there is a big difference between the distance of the bearings. How can I overcome this problem?? Please mail with the solution. Peter

Over the weekend, I finally checked camber, put the tie rods and dust caps on, and readied to mount up the 356B brakes. Delayed by a few tid bits but who's counting... lol.

fitting all this in there was the biggest challenge. Need to narrow the beam some more.

11/24/03 Jeff Herzog I took 4 inches out of the front beam. I need to take about another 1-2 inches for better clearance though.
11/24/03 Fer Hi Jeff, what did you do to prevent the tires from touching off the body. Dont the wheels go out too much?
Did you changes only the arms or the all suspension?

I got this Bus from a paddock in Griffith about 650kms from Sydney, Australia. for $500AUD. It included 2 cuts from another split, a front end and a rear end. It has no motor and I'm planning to stick in a WRX engine (EJ 20) that should be interesting!

11/27/03 Tim Again Scratch that idea about the rexxy motor! I am just sticking a 1600 in her for now. hehe
11/27/03 Tim agani again The guy who sold this to me told me it was a 56 , but i looked up the cchassis/VIN and it is a November 1955! sweet.

pics are'nt to clear but you can see the lever bracket at the end of the cylinder. The cylinder pushes out 5" which pushes down on the lower arm 5". Tube with hiem joints from lever to lower shock mount not installed yet.

11/27/03 jeff simmons I narrowed the beam 4" to get the tires back inside, but when down on the ground they do not turn. I'm trying to come up with an easy way to get some turning radius out of it.
