10/12/05 xoli My wife is the orginal owner of this bus, Molo Shongolo. We designed the logo and she used it to transport children to school. We were v. sad when we had to sell it. Xoli & Minki Mahlalela

hinge pin = valve hinge pin = valve

When hanging a door the hinge pin/ mirror arm was AWOL. Luckily a valve was handy, and it fit perfectly!!!

i just thought i would share a couple pictures of my bus with everyone. the plan is to stop the rust and keep as much original paint as posible. then just drive it with out a resto.

Took most of one day to dig out...on it's way to be given new life. Was a '67 kombi E-Z camper conversion. Totally gutted...not in to bad of shape body wise. Typical rust...rockers, front pan sections. Any advise would greatly be appreciated.

at long last I can stop taking things apart and start putting it all back together. The bus has a creative eng IRS kit, ball joint front beam, front disks. Next job is re-wiring followed by lights engine g'box etc etc. Hope to have it on the road sometime in may. The paint has been rubbed back to the original dove blue and lacquered. OK so it looks rough but it has exposed some of the original sign writing which is cool.

I got this minibus from my dad, although he had started minor restorations since he got it, i know there's a lot of work to be done. it's not that much of a collectible but experiencing my first VW project would be very exciting for me... i'm startin by strippin the paint and by doin a lot of body repairs... i'm open to suggestions and probably help from the pro's (you guys)... Thanks!
