Just sorta came across this 'site' somehow..have a '69 Type2 Bus and a '66 Restored by Original Owners 'Bermuda Blue' Karmann Ghia, that needs some re-restoring cosmetically...and have always wanted to put a 4Cyl PORSCHE Motor in some Vw some moment.....Please Respond Happy Motoring |

| 08/18/03 | Todd | I have a 65 13-window deluxe. I did the whole Wolfgang international type 3 rear end conversion with drop spindles in the front. If you are having trouble with the back being lower than the front.. like I did. You have 2 options. The difference in the front and back on my bus wasnt a lot, so I just put lower profile tires on the front and that corrected it. The other option is a little more time consuming and a pain in the a$$. That is, take the spring plates off and adjust them to make up for the difference. All i can say is that it is trial and error this way, but its the only way. Take good notes of the angle of the spring plates before and after you make the adjustment. Also, from what i hear, some settling may occur, so further adjustment may be needed. Email me if you have any questions and I can refer you to the VW mechanic God in my area. tgrim@hotmail.com |

Where did the door handles go, wheres the dog leg seam, wheres the dog leg pieces for the front bumper? And no wipers or door handles? Why does it sit lower in the rear than in the front? Nice bus. |
