Isn't that amazing?! Blue and White Gilda his GL-36-04, and this green bus (found in www.paodeforma.com) is GL-36-02. This mean only two numbers difference. Sorry, but I suppose that the green bus isn't going to see road again. Instead Gilda have made 1700 km's in last 4 months, and she want's more and more.

How do you transform a "kastenwagen" in a "leichenwagen"? It's simple: you just have to find a dead body, put it in a coffin, and put it inside your bus! (Do you believe this story? Of course you do. Maybe it's only new furniture to my kitchen...)

I first spotted this Swiss LHD Kombi about 1990; back then it wasn't faded and the green still looked like the green visible on the fuel tank. It had all the stickers back then. I next saw it parked at the roadside a couple of years ago, looking faded but intact. Then, the next time I saw it, a few months later, it had been rear-ended by some drunk while parked. Since then the damaged panels were cut out and now the bus justs stands dejected.

This angle shows the fans & half water tank that served as a gas tank for the Skoda-powered '51. Engine bay orange matches curtains, & contrasts 'nicely' with the (S)lime green paintwork everywhere else!..where's that can of primer?!...

My Aug '51 camper-converted Kombi from East Germany was bought with this Skoda water-pumper installed!!Known as 'Shrek' 'til i can paint it, it now has a 1641, straight axle conversion & an adjustable lowered beam.

Took most of one day to dig out...on it's way to be given new life. Was a '67 kombi E-Z camper conversion. Totally gutted...not in to bad of shape body wise. Typical rust...rockers, front pan sections. Any advise would greatly be appreciated.

I got this minibus from my dad, although he had started minor restorations since he got it, i know there's a lot of work to be done. it's not that much of a collectible but experiencing my first VW project would be very exciting for me... i'm startin by strippin the paint and by doin a lot of body repairs... i'm open to suggestions and probably help from the pro's (you guys)... Getting some wood from old storage, and give it to my friend in the pictures, proved to be a lot of work. And with a 600 kg of load, it was nice to see Gilda (the bus) in full work. Well, this put some wood inside a bus without been a westfalia interior...
