I think I figure out the hostility. You split window fans associate bays with grateful dead, sandal wearing hippies, and grandma grocery getters. But Dando sees many dead head stickers on splits also. And man down the street will not sell Dando his '66 beat up piece of split window for no amount of money. I see lots of people who take pride in thier VW's no matter what type. We should all enjoy thier hard work, and concentrate on those who abuse these wonderfull vehicles.

There's some work on it but overall it's in a good condition. From 1971 to 1981 it was used by the Deutsche Bundespost in Nuremberg and then sold to the FFW Leupoldstein who drove it until 2000. Their new car is now a fine 1967 (!) Ford Transit.
