This 1970 is 90% Restored. 1776 cc with dual webbers. It scoots around the city and tackles the hills on the 5 South. The bamboo surf racks are kind. This is the perfect surf Bus.

This is an original early type 2 (pre 1967) childs cot. I don't know too much about color options but every one I have seen is army green. Does anyone know if there were any other colors available and in what year did this front seat- hanging style cot appear in the Westfalia?

03/19/07 G.T.58 My first bus was a 63, same color blue and It had this same canvas OD sling over the front seat. That rear seat/bed bracket seen in this picture is also same at the WF kit that I had in a 63.
12/22/02 michael generally this style ofcot showed up with so-43's in green army stlyed canvas. it lookslike you have a so-33 kit which if mem serves could be ordered on any model kombi (so-33 was designed toretrofit kombis and was designed to be easily removed so hat kombi could serve two functions). Mebbe someone simply cut down a beige piece of pay window canbas. The "cot" idea originated with so-23 but back then it incorperated the use of the backrest as the base of the cot not a sep. piece of canvas.
12/19/02 Jeff Thanks for the info Sean. The bus pictured is a May 1964 SO-33 factory fitted Westfalia model.
12/18/02 Sean They all came in that armr freena I think they came with a cover to keep them from scratching the wood interior. I believe they came out in the "SO" camper series (42,44). That would be 1964 models thru 1967 models. Earlier models had a different type of front sleeping arrangement that usually involved the front seat being used as part of the bed.

12/05/05 Richard Hello Thom,
I just saw your picture re the cot. I was unaware that a cot was avail. in the front. Is it possible to see how it hooks to the camper? I have 4 holes (2 on either side in the front as well as behind the seats) on my `68 camper but was wondering if there are special hooks required that fit into these holes.

I have posted these photos to help those seeking to identify the VW M-Code B-33. The photos show the standard real wood camper cabinets and seat-bed configuration for the SO-33 Model (approximately 1963-64. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to swap info.

I am not sure what type of camper this is. I only know that it is rather crusty around the hat brim. I will get a lot of practice at sheetmetal re-creation. Even though it is crusty it has a lot of character, typical of splitty's.
