Floors have been seem sealed, and finished in grey. Sanded and painted the rear luggage area. There was some surface rust starting. I will next put the foam sound deadener back in, and then the panels are ready to go back, as well as the laminate floor. Started on the battery tray. The tray area isn't to bad, but the area next to the decklid was worst than we thought. Once I took the outside skin off where the hole was. I discovered that the pillar coming down vertically was rusted away too. This supports the lower panel and gives it some stiffness. Anyway, no one sells that piece so i'm fabricating one. I will also have to make a lower panel. No ones sells a lower panel that is high enough. Should be done with all that by tomorrow and will have more pics.

On The Road Again
More shots of my Doll. Also has a custom made awning that is length of van and 6.5 feet wide. She had 170,000 on her when I got her. Has been to New Foundland 3 or 4 times, across Canada several times, and lord only knows how many trips across the USA. This will be my "retirement" home in a few years and she will be on the road again. There is also a custom matching trailer that came with her that will be put to good use! :) She resides in N.E. Alabama, USA. The gentleman on the left in the pic is the original owner. The sale was kind of like an adoption process!! And what a prize!!

This is an old family picture. My father bought this bus from a customer, used, in the early 50's in Los Angeles. I've compared the photo to others on this site and can see an antenna, and rubber bumper molding. It was red and black, but my dad painted the roof white as it was too hot inside. Any help in identifying the year?

I have never seen a VW bus such as the one pictured. Sorry the pic is so small, had to "print screen" from a google map. Is this a common body type? Is it a rebuild? Thanks in advance. Tom

this is a vw bus battery that i made. it goes from old beat up hippy bus to a very nice looking bus the longer you let your ipod touch/iphone charge. the only way to get this is to have a jailbroken ipod touch or iphone if you do your in luck. you can download the files from the link i gave or if you have customize 2.0 you can get it thru there also the file set name is VWbusbattery

i change the paint job every years or 2 just to keep it interesting while i do the body work little by little. the last spot i gott do it is the rocker/and floor section under the barn doors, needs bottom sections of door replaced also. Should be done in the up coming year then maybe I'll think about a real paint job
