On The Road Again
More shots of my Doll. Also has a custom made awning that is length of van and 6.5 feet wide. She had 170,000 on her when I got her. Has been to New Foundland 3 or 4 times, across Canada several times, and lord only knows how many trips across the USA. This will be my "retirement" home in a few years and she will be on the road again. There is also a custom matching trailer that came with her that will be put to good use! :) She resides in N.E. Alabama, USA. The gentleman on the left in the pic is the original owner. The sale was kind of like an adoption process!! And what a prize!!

This is all the same bus over 5 years of changing it. It's slowly changing colors again this year as i find time to grind and prime it. She just got a new engine this spring and also a new 69 Squareback brother! I friggin love this bus. People still call me a hippy and it pisses me off but I'm cool with it i guess. I'm a surfer not a hippy garshdarnet. PEACE !

Here are some pics of my second splity...one pic was taken at a Padi (rice) field. On the other pics, you can see the island of Penang in the background. Penang is located in Northwest Peninsular Malaysia. When i bought the bus, I thought it was a 15window, only a week later did I find out that it was actually a 23 window! Sometime in the past, someone had welded the sunroof and skylight. The search is on for a sunroof assembly to restore it to its former glory!... Do you know of anyone who re-manufactures the whole assembly? Drop me a line... Keep those VW's alive!

1970 Volkswagen Westfalia. Rcently resprayed it's original Montana Red/Cloud White. While I sanded down the body I fixed all of the minor rust spots. New Gel Coat on Pop Top, new bulbs all the way around, new whitewall tyres (205/70/14R). New Monroe Matic Shocks, new wheel bearings, CV Joints and boots, Interior was nearly all original with a final touch-up or two done by me a couple of years ago. Steam cleaned Seats and Curtains (handmade by myself). Valves set, electronic ignition timmed to perfection, many other engine tune-ups/upgrades. Overall just a beautiful example of my girl.

This is my 1961 Kombi project, original Mouse Grey. I picked it up from a friend, fellow enthusiast, and former co-worker who didnt get the time to start the project, (he had 3 others) it had been sitting for 5 years in the open. My first bus! Back to original rare Mouse Grey!
