Hello all, I found this 1959 doubledoor on the samba.com last year, the bus whas located in Cottenwood California.The seller told me that the bus sat in a field for more than 25 years. I made a good deal with the seller and he towed it for me to the shipper in LA. After waiting a while and already searching for parts finally the bus whas in Rotterdam in The Netherlands. I found the automobile registration card of the last owner in it, they were around the steeringpipe and the year 1971 whas on it. The bus whas full whit wasps and mous nests and other DB. On the speedo I could read only 48300 miles, and I could see on the condition of the bus that it only has been used for about 10 years, there is now wear on the rear torsionbar rubber parts, also the front axle is as new wen I removed all the sand and clay. Most of the original parts were still on the bus exept the seat, gearbox and engine. I found an engine in The Netharlands correct for this bus and also the gearbox. afcource I need to do some weldingwork, but it`s not to bad. Some body made 6 camperwindows in it and that is a hard thing to get that perfect as original. It whas a big risk to buy it from internet but I`m very happy with it. In a couple of years this bus will be a great driver

This is our '66 VW Type 2 T1. It is an original European Bus, probably from Belgium and now placed in Venlo in The Netherlands.
