To my knowledge there are 5 "Dormobiles" in Saskatchewan. Mine is the only one that has been fully restored. It still has the original 6 volt system but I added Dual 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries charged by a pair of solar panels under the windows of the roof. I also added several power points in the back above the 12 volt fridge. Bus now has a stereo that will play the sound of a portable DVD.

I bought this Westfalia Trailer from a neighbour because it seemed unique. He had used it during his career and towed it behind a sand coloured VOLVO. I think it was made in 1969. It has some vw splitty parts in it's DNA. I intend to restore it to pull behind a splitty firetruck... Has anyone seen anything like it anwhere else? Originaly it was bought to carry machine tools to exhibitions and has AC power connectors and fluoresent lights inside. If I can't get it restored I will sell it to a VW fan for ongoing use

This are one of 200 limited edition of the last buses made with air cooled engine. This brazilian special edition are caaled Serie Prata = (Silver series)are powered with 1600 fuel injection engine, special silver paint, mate black bumpers and head lights frames, gren glasses. The new Kombis will came with 1.4 water cooled engine, the same angine of Brazilian car called FOX, has about 80hp engine. The last pic show how it will looks like. The word says good bye to the legend of VW Air cooled engines with this special Bus from Brasil.

This is a 1964 GMC step-van that has been converted into a custom camper. The top half of a late-model VW Camper has been welded on top of the step-van to make a second story (and a third when the VW is popped). The camper is wired for both AC and DC power, sleeps up to 8, has a sink, icebox, propane stove, kitchen table, and lots of storage. The interior is all cedarwood and has a rustic cabin feel. All the windows have screens, and there are fans throughout. The camper is also complete with oak hardwood floors! The GMC has a strong straight six engine. The engine has not been started in more than a year, but ran strong before being parked and should start right up with a little know how. So what's the problem? The GMC needs a new steering box. This camper cannot be driven home. Buyer will need to find a new steering box, or have a new one made. You will need to arrange for it to be towed or fixed before taking possession. This vehicle is perfect for cruising the country, or parking out in the woods and squatting! Two golf cart batteries allow you to live with power for up to a week (est). The pictures listed are from three years ago, and the vehicle is dirty now from sitting, but will clean up nice. I may have some pictures left from 4 years ago when I bought this, and you can see how much better it actually looks now! I put a lot of time into this vehicle. Some things that I put in new: fuel tank, fuel pump, flooring, paint job, DC electrical system and lots of little things. Seriously, even if you didn't want to fix the steering box, this camper would still make a great home for someone wanting some shelter in the woods. It could even work as a weekend hunting cabin! The camper is water tight, and the weld around the VW does not leak at all. The windshield on the VW is cracked though, and could be fixed under insurance, although it never bothered me. Initial picture of a Land Mine resisting Vehcile built on VW Brazil Kombi running gear after its arrival at the Museum in Johannesburg, South Africa from Zimbabwe. Built in Zimbabwe during the period 1976 to 1979 for the civilian sector in response to an escilating mine problem, the vehicle was powered by the standard 1600cc 4 cyl type 1 Air cooled motor and standard gearbox, but had 'low range' gears fitted into the Reduction Boxes at the rear wheels. A large add-on Oil cooler was added to assist the engine. Seats 6, 5 passengers and a driver. Only 5 are known to have survived, this being 1 of the 2 that have survived with wheels / axles. Volunteer restoration of the vehcile has begun but are in desperate need of a source of orginal VW Brazil parts, in particular a complete Gearbox (with flexable drive shafts) and Engine authentic for the period, the originals having been removed. (I have an Engine number if necessary). Original VW body was the Bay Window type. Would also like to correspond with any Vintage Bus enthusiasts so as to learn more detail about the original model Kombi on which the Leo is based. Many thanks. Bought this camper from grandfather who was original owner. Van has original paint and interior except I had the front seats redone. Van has never been accident involved (knock on wood).. Rebuilt engine to 2056cc, 71mm stroke,Web 73 cam w/Web solid lifters,96mm Keith Black pistons/cylinders, dual 40mm Webers, 009 dizzy, 42x36mm heads mild port & polish. Approx. 110 horsepower.
