Yeah, Beryl is the original VW color and also the name I gave this funky beast. Bus heaven must be some sight! It's been almost a year since she was destroyed and it's taken me the same time to find a suitable replacment.

Here's some pics of my 62 Oz panel, which caught on fire 2 days after a 6 month major resto :( My Frantz bus has replaced Beryl, but she'll never be forgotten! Bless her bus sole! Frantz is about 3 months older...

On the ship, heading for the mainland (400km). I might be able to get a whole stack of the original Frantz tools and servicing gear to complement the van... Anyone ever heard of this company in the States??? It's a Calif. company...

10/15/08 Nick Hi Peter, I wonder who put the Frantz stickers on your bus, and when? The company was resurrected by George Walker, who was one of the main distributors in the '60s....maybe the van was his? It's now being run by his daughter, Deborah Walker-Harley, as www.wefilterit.com and there is an Australian outlet www.frantzfilters.au

I am marketing the new version Frantz in Europe, you may geta a mail from my webmaster...it's be great to have some pix of your Frantz bus on the european site, as there's a big following for the Veedub vans here!

Cheers,

Nick
06/28/05 Alan Hardy I am a Frantz filter distributor. If anyone needs parts for old filters or new filters, I have them in stock. Will ship international.

06/11/03 carol frantz The Frantz filter was invented and patented by John Frantz and then sold to skipper and the Sky co. John Frantz is still alive and well in Hickman Ca.
04/18/03 Tony The Frantz Filter was made by the Sky company out of Stockton CA. The Sky corporation has gone out of business, but the Frantz filter has been improved, and is now in production again thanks to the late George Walker. Their web sight is http://www.wefilterit.com/products.htm
04/14/03 Tony Have been using Frantz oil filters for years on my old jeeps. These old Jeeps only used by pass filters and the Frantz filters work out well for this application. Does any one know where to get the square "O" ring type gasket for these filters? Also have the instructions on how to install and change the toilet paper filter.
08/28/02 Randy The Frantz Oil cleaner Co. was started by Skipper K. Yee in Stockton, Ca, USA. A Farmer, Frantz, in the area was using toilet paper to filter his equipment. Skipper and another person bought the
right to the idea and started manufacturing a new
design. This was in the '50', I believe. They were sold on a direct marketing distributorship basis. The shield logo predates the oval logo, early '60'. The van that you have belonged to a distributor, who personally sold and installed the filters. I still have two of the oval decals and a lot of literature. Those were great filters
and worked exceptionally well.

A close up of the Frantz logo (from the door). Maybe I could continue the business... I'm sure it would be an absolute boomer!

Here's a picture of my Aussie panel. I just got back from my weekend trip (Tasmania to Melbourne) and resecued it from about as donunder as you can get. It's an original panelvan for the Frantz company - even has one of their filters installed. Great car!
