This is a fantastic blend of "old" and "quality": this kombi is as new as you can go. It is one of the best in Portugal, and oldest too. And not only to show, but it drives well too. It was in the 10 classic vw meeting, 24-25 September, in sunshine Portugal.

12/03/05 valter fonseca Boas! Tenho uma dvida acerca da minha "ramona". No livrete a carrinha de 59, no entanto, ainda no consegui encontrar no site nenhuma vw igual. As mais parecidas no tm as entradas de ar ao nivel dos vidros, como a sua. Provavelmente estar mais dentro do assunto do que eu, por isso lhe ponho a questo, ser que a minha vw no est como de origem? Tenhos as fotos no site. Obrigado.

This is in Lagos, Algarve (South Portugal). The bay window is from a shop "Fofovelas" sails masts and repairs. Always in use, that's the way to go!

This was in July 2003, in Marinha Grande (Portugal - Europe). The owner said it cost more then 15000 euros to rebuild this bus to the perfect standard. Forget the price, and love the nice result.

When you don't have a good place to stop your Bus, maybe you can put it under other cars. You also have the benefit of being better rain protected, and sure you get the car away from being sacratched from passing people. The problem is: how can I take it out again?... Maybe never... (Of course the car is in a scrapyard, and never see the road again. It is in a Police department, and is going to be melted for the steel. By the license plate, is from 1967/1968)

29 February 2004, Sunday. With Gilda the bus, stoping on road side near vora city, to see the sunset defore returning to Sintra. Nice day with a 604 km driving day, bright sun in your face, and cold air to refresh the engine (that's why is good to drive in winter...)

This was a sunny winter day in 13 February 2004 in Lisbon coast, in Portugal. In a bus you can have a better view from the surfers in the sea, and a good look of sunset over the sea. little paradise, with sea, sun, great view and of course... the blue happy bus: Gilda.

Isn't that amazing?! Blue and White Gilda his GL-36-04, and this green bus (found in www.paodeforma.com) is GL-36-02. This mean only two numbers difference. Sorry, but I suppose that the green bus isn't going to see road again. Instead Gilda have made 1700 km's in last 4 months, and she want's more and more.

How do you transform a "kastenwagen" in a "leichenwagen"? It's simple: you just have to find a dead body, put it in a coffin, and put it inside your bus! (Do you believe this story? Of course you do. Maybe it's only new furniture to my kitchen...)

This a beautiful Type 2 from the beetle parts shop "Loja do Carocha" in Marinha Grande (Portugal, near Leiria), wich was in display between 27 November and 1 December 2003 in a show of more than 100 classic cars in Expoeste, Caldas da Rainha. People really enjoy old VW bus, with lot's of yesterday's memories. When I get more pictures of this bus I let you see too. Enjoy the bus, and forget those strange cars in the rest of the picture.

Getting some wood from old storage, and give it to my friend in the pictures, proved to be a lot of work. And with a 600 kg of load, it was nice to see Gilda (the bus) in full work. Well, this put some wood inside a bus without been a westfalia interior...
