| 11/18/03 | Kees | I have been asking around a bit in my family, and came up with the following, indeed it is a 59. It was a panelvan when it was purchased, and the windows were put in later. It was red, with chrome bumpers and a chrome VW mark on the front and as you can see chrome hubcaps. It was bought from a chrome company in Leiden Holland in 1961 My father owned it for around 6 years, then it was sold to a grocer. When it was sold I have seen it for some years and then lost track. Is it still alive???, the licenseplate was RV-01-77 |
| 01/24/03 | Brendan | The first year for the indentation in the cargo door was 1959. Buses could have had semaphores through 1960. My guess is that it's either a 1959 or 1960 Panel with those windows obviously cut in it. It is possible though that it's a '57 Panel that someone put 1959 high hinge cargo doors on, but most definitely not likely. |
