To my knowledge there are 5 "Dormobiles" in Saskatchewan. Mine is the only one that has been fully restored. It still has the original 6 volt system but I added Dual 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries charged by a pair of solar panels under the windows of the roof. I also added several power points in the back above the 12 volt fridge. Bus now has a stereo that will play the sound of a portable DVD.

Managed to make a bulkhead panel NOT a replica Used corrugated MDF to form curves will make two side panels to match later just need some nice edging trim for top edge. Had a piece of scrap period formica for top

Now being refurbished this 1975 VW Bus has rebuilt 1800 motor and bed/seat in rear with 3 seat belts. Only minor rust in edge of left side fron step which has now been welded

This motor was pulled from a junked car and completely gone through. The time and cost was amazing, yet the result satisfying. There are plenty of parts and knowledge out there. Clark's Corvair being #1

This is my Kombi back in 1989 in Western Australia, I had just bought it for $1300 and parked it too near the edge of a sand bank, luckily we managed to save it from rolling over! I sold it to and Environmental Cop and his Artist Wife in the end, I belive it still trundles round in W.A. and is now called 'Vincent'.

More crap from where the rear-end was sectioned on. This weld is sorta almost complete, but crappy. They also didn't run the taillight wires thru the frame and up the channel like they're supposed to go, but instead brought them over the shelf and across the edge of the battery tray.

what is worth noting about the engine, and the whole car for that matter, is that it is original with 300,000 miles. although i rebuilt the engine, all the sheet metal and external engine parts are not repainted or restored, it is all original. here's a secret, use lemon pledge on your sheet metal to keep it moisturized and looking new. i did blast and paint the muffler and oil filter can, but that is all.

Note the larger of the screw sleeves is actually for a rubber door alignment wedge. Third from the left is NOS which has no markings. #2 and 4 are repops by WCM (I believe).

As you can see we completely welded the cargo floor outter edges to the rear deck area and whell boxes.

THE ONLY THING THAT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT IS MISSING IS THE VW EMBLEM THAT IS ON THE VERY FRONT OF THE TRUCK.(SOME ROTTEN KID RAN OFF WITH IT.)
