I was looking for some input on my output. I went to the junkyard today, not your local pick n pull but a real out in the woods car scat-tered everywhere type deal. I needed some type 2 parts, and I just ate like 3 bean burritos, and a gooey enchirito before hand. And you know what happened when I finally dragged my tool box all the way out there. I usually come pretty well prepared but never had I ever thought of bringing wipe into the field. I didnt know what to do so I dropped a growler right on the hood of a rabbit truck thinking that no one would ever run into it there. But that wasnt the problem, I had to come up with some wipe and the only thing I could do was cut my underwear off with my Rambo knife all commando style. Next time I won't eat before I go, or I will add some Charmin to the tool kit. So if you recognize this bus in your local yard, watch where you step.

One of the guys in the club runs a pawn shop down Georgia way. Here I stopped in to shoot the shinola for a spell and we got so drunk that I missed bike week. Got a good deal on a VCR for the luv machine.

Here is one of my first attempts at shortening buses. Note the huge cracks down the side, thats because I brazed it together with coat hangers (hey, I had to improvise), this one split in half on me going over the Hoover damn. Memories. Hey!! Is that hot pants back there??

Hey kids its Chuck here, I know I haven't been around much lately but I promise to stay in touch. Lets all make a resolution for 2002 to keep the buses stock and to convert all customs back to the original look and feel of the bus. Thats right, only stock colors allowed in the future, no crazy double door barn door peach and purple jobbies. Chuck Wagen the clown, honk honk!!

Lamar Vannoy wrote in and asked if I ever have owned a bus that was custom. And yes, my current driver is this bitchin ride. I bought this thing outta the west coast a few years back, not all the good buses are in California. That is me standing with my back to the camera, I guess you could say that is my better side!! Here I am a little slimmer (and older, HA!) than in the previous picture of me with my skim board.

01/14/07 Simon Santiago Are there any diagrams or plans on how to properly shorten a bus and redo the tranny, wiring, etc.? I have a 76 Westy that is a "candidate" for shortening.

While I got your attention, I thought I would ask if anyone had a front bumper for my other bus. I have lots of hours into this one, and it sure does pay off when I am out on the streets. The guys love it. This one will really get down the street, so I had to put a wing on it. I didn't like the wing at first, I thought it took from the classic look of the VW.

After looking at her a bit, I decided that wasn't the look I was after. Nor did I want to return to the red paint and alloys again either. This time, I went with the resto custom look, well, only thing resto was the wheels, but I don't care what you think. And besides, I would bet dollars to doughnuts that I get more attention in this, than you do in your barndoor.

It was one of those days. I was coming home from the VFW when what did I see, but this bus here for sale. I immediately called and surprisingly it was still available. I bought her ASAP, cause as we all know, treasures like these don't sit around waiting.
